Injury-related expenses record
Keep a factual record of costs you believe relate to the injury, alongside the receipts or other evidence. Recording an item does not mean it will be recoverable; discuss it with your solicitor.

01Keep the detail with the cost
For each entry, describe what the cost was for and how it relates to the injury. Give the receipt or document a reference so it is easy to match. Note any amount already reimbursed or claimed elsewhere.

02Other financial effects to discuss
You may also need separate records of time away from work, changes in earnings, or help received with everyday tasks. Keep relevant payslips, employer correspondence and a note of the dates and nature of any assistance. Do not guess a monetary value where you are unsure.
Notes, missing receipts or other records to discuss
Examples of costs to record include travel to medical appointments, treatment expenses and damaged belongings where relevant. Keep supporting documents securely and avoid counting the same cost twice.
