Your situation
Does this sound like what happened?
These are some of the circumstances we can consider. You can still ask for an assessment if your experience is different.
- Vehicles turning across or emerging into a rider’s path
- Unsafe lane changes and overtaking
- Filtering and disputed-responsibility incidents
- Defective road surfaces, spills or obstructions
What we will talk through
We will ask about your route and manoeuvre, the other vehicles, any footage and the effect of the injury on work, mobility and independence.
The full impact
An assessment may need to consider care, treatment, travel, work and future needs alongside the injury itself.
Technical evidence
The road layout, vehicle positions and available footage can be particularly important where accounts differ.
Injuries & losses
The effect on your everyday life matters.
Tell us about your symptoms, recovery and the practical changes since the accident. Depending on the evidence and legal route, a claim may consider the injury alongside related losses such as:
- Motorcycle and protective-equipment damage
- Earnings lost while recovering
- Reasonable treatment and additional travel expenses
- Care and assistance required because of the injury
These are possible categories, not guaranteed payments. The evidence, responsibility and applicable rules determine what can be recovered.
Useful evidence
Start with what you have.
You do not need a complete file before speaking to us. Keep original documents and recordings where possible. The following can help:
- 01
Vehicle details, witness accounts and police references
- 02
Helmet-camera, dashcam or CCTV footage
- 03
Photographs and inspection details for the motorcycle
- 04
Records of damaged clothing, equipment, earnings and treatment
Keep the details in one place.
Use the practical accident checklist to organise what you have and note what is missing.
Open the accident checklistProcess & funding
Understand the route before you choose it.
Tell the firm what happened
Explain the incident, your injuries and any contact with insurers or other representatives.
Explore the available options
The team can consider the information, the possible route and what further enquiries may be needed.
Decide whether to proceed
If the firm can act, review the proposed next steps and funding terms before giving instructions.
The costs conversation
No Win, No Fee
May be available, subject to eligibility and terms. Ask about any potential costs, deductions and relevant insurance before choosing to proceed.
Understand the funding termsCommon questions
A little clarity before you decide.
The accident happened while filtering. What information matters?
Explain the traffic conditions, the road markings, your speed and position, and what the other road user did. Footage and witnesses may be especially useful. The circumstances need to be assessed rather than assuming responsibility from the fact that you were filtering.
Can damaged riding kit be considered?
Damage to a helmet, jacket, gloves or other equipment may form part of the financial losses considered. Keep photographs, receipts and replacement or repair estimates where available. Recovery of any cost depends on the evidence and the claim.
What if I was riding as a pillion passenger?
Tell us that you were the passenger and identify the motorcycle and rider where possible. Pillion passengers are outside the Official Injury Claim route, but another personal injury route may be available. We can consider the incident and the relevant parties.
Ask about the deadline early
For many personal injury claims, court proceedings must usually be started within three years, but the correct deadline depends on the facts and exceptions can apply. Contacting us does not stop time running. Seek advice promptly rather than relying on a general deadline.
